When the "startup" keywork is specified, LTspice ramps up independent sources, starting from zero, during the first 20μs of the simulation. This only applies to the top level of hierarchy; independent sources in subcircuits are not ramped. If initial conditions are specified on a .ic directive, these conditions will be applied during the initial DC operating point analysis.
